As a consequence of heavy rainfall caused by Typhoon "Mawar" in Japan, Hirokazu Matsuno, the chief secretary of the country's government, reported that three individuals are currently missing, three are in critical condition, and over 40 people have sustained injuries.
Earlier, it was confirmed that one person had tragically lost their life.
"At this time, one fatality has been confirmed, three individuals are in critical condition, and the whereabouts of three others cannot be determined. Five injured individuals are currently receiving urgent medical treatment, while 36 others have suffered minor injuries," stated Matsuno during a press conference held in Tokyo.
On June 2, the Japanese government issued a recommendation for the evacuation of nearly 1.3mn people across the country due to the presence of Tropical Storm Mawar.
As a result of this natural disaster, over 300 flights and 52 ferries were canceled nationwide, and several railway lines were temporarily shut down.
