UNICEF, in collaboration with the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), and other national and foreign partners, has outlined a plan for reforming education in Uzbekistan from 2023 to 2026, the organization's press service reports.
The roadmap seeks to better coordination among education stakeholders and to extend the most effective options. It contains quantifiable goals such as teacher training, equitable evaluation of students' knowledge, school infrastructure strengthening, contemporary textbook development, and education management system improvement. To achieve 80% coverage of children aged 3 to 6 years, the plan calls for more spaces in preschool and public education institutions by 2026.
The roadmap was created in response to a shortage of collaboration among education-related organizations. It draws together 54 partner organizations to provide a clear strategy for reforming the educational sector. According to Munir Mamedzadeh, director of UNICEF's office in Uzbekistan, education is a priority for turning current population chances into rewards.
