Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Jorabek Mirzamahmudov answered and commented on the situation regarding the power outages in Uzbekistan that have hit hard business owners.

“The power supplier has contractual obligations which stipulate bilateral agreements on emergency shutdowns or restrictions. The service provider is obliged to offset according to the agreement, in case of the shutdown without warning, or interruptions due to other reasons.

However, it is envisaged to limit, cut off or reduce consumption at times when the supplier will give a warning in advance, the energy minister underpinned.
